For two weekends starting Friday, Jan. 29, Simsbury High School students will present the musical “Barnum,” based on the life of P.T. Barnum (1810-1891), creator of the modern three-ring circus. Not only will the show go on in the SHS auditorium but also, before each performance, there will be some added attractions, including side shows, face painting and popcorn in the school lobby.
The cast is composed of 50 students, the majority portraying “cirus folks” such as jugglers and plate spinners, not to mention clowns, trapeze artists and a lion tamer. Some students have multiple roles.
