Are you interested in what the town can do to deal with water shortages? At the Board of Selectmen’s meeting on Nov. 28, the chair of the town’s Conservation Comm. proposed that the town pass an ordinance modeled on Greenwich to mandate compliance with water cutbacks. Apparently water companies have drought management plans, but no authority to enforce them. After discussion, it was agreed that the Conservation Comm. and the town attorney would come back to the Board with some ideas on how our ordinance could be worded & implemented. The proposed ordinance would require a public hearing. You can watch a repeat of the BOS meeting which dealt with many more topics including a grant for a section of the Bike Trail between the existing greenway and Tariffville. It airs at 6:30pm tonight 12/2 and tomorrow at 4:30pm on Xfinity Channel 96 and Frontier 99 or anytime online at: http://simsburytv.org/v/ehJDM4ahZ2I
